Description
CAO Pilon takes its name from the traditional pilón fermentation method used to process the Nicaraguan filler tobaccos — a technique that creates a deeper, richer, more complex fermentation than conventional methods. The result is a fuller-bodied, more nuanced smoke that rewards those who appreciate the impact of fermentation on tobacco character.
The Ecuadorian Sun Grown wrapper opens with cedar and natural sweetness, while the pilón-fermented Nicaraguan core delivers leather, dark earth, espresso, cocoa, and a building pepper spice. The box press adds density and consistency to the draw. A complex, full-bodied smoke that showcases the pilon difference from first draw to last.
